My Lela loves turtles. I created this little guy using recycled vintage plaid scraps (from my friend's grandma's fabric collection he generously gave me!). The feet, tail, and head are made from a thrift store sweater. The eyes are vintage buttons.
pattern??? PATTERN!?!? oh dear...that would involve being precise and whatnot..oh no. this (and pretty much everything) are just done by hand..by eye? yeah, you get the point. but omg i have to make some for you! and the kids! do you have colors you would prefer? i can bring some to KC in september! yay!
his name is rapheal..like the ninja turtle! i <3 him so much and he smells wonderful, stuffed with sage ;) he makes me smile...and so does she! shes crafty!!!
ahhhhhh! I remember that fabric! :D It makes me so happy to see it again. My grandpa made me a turtle too that looked almost exactly like that, but he was out of real ugly green broadcloth. You should so sell those things, I'd buy one.
turning my thrift store and vintage obsession into my own little creations..with a side of alley finds, decoupaging, baking, and whatever else I can come up with.
