Little bitty clothes for little bitty children

My original plan, before the idea for bibs for my sister, was to embellish clothes for the new baby. I finally had some time to make that happen.
Here I used Lela's old t-shirt, made a patch, and attached it to a $2.00 tank top I found at Ross. This is for Reese. She loves tie dye. Whose little fluffy tail!?!??!
Rico's always all up in tha mix when I'm sewing.

I hand drew little creatures for onesies for my nephew. This little bird is made from the same material as my cafe curtains, my carpet bag, and so many other things.
After digging for a good part of a half hour, I found a 3 pack of white onesies at Ross for $5.00. Score.

I've never made anything quite like these (except the bibs). Making this owl patch was waaaay easier than I thought it would be. I used a patch from the same old pants material used for Lela's stocking, the vintage cafe curtain (originally a skirt) material, and vintage buttons.

I hand sewed the little mouth. They are definitely DIY looking, but oh how sweet they are. Sweet like my brand new nephew. Love you, Franklin!

Jubie's DIY Holiday Stocking

Growing up, opening my stocking was my favorite part of Christmas. My moms used to fill it with presents, candy, fruit, and nuts. I loved dumping my stocking on the floor and digging through everything.
Lela and I started a tradition Christmas 2010 to fill a stocking full of little goodies for each other instead of any big purchases. It was so much fun! Of course I had to make and design our own DIY stockings.
I used all scrap materials for my stocking. The embroidered pieces are from a thrift store shirt that literally fell apart.

Leler's DIY Holiday Stocking

I made Lela's stocking from all scrap materials, too. This material is from an old pair of my pants.
And the trim from some curtains my friend gave me from his grandma's sewing items. Oh how that love has lasted.

I am so delighted with how the the hanger-thingieturned out. I also made a little functional pocket with a vintage button.

The stocking is also lined, which was new for me. I love how it turned out.

Embellished Bibs

Store bought bibs with a little Aunt Ju-Ju-ness.
So easy and fun to make. Hand drawn...They're made with vintage scrap material, interfacing, and buttons.
I think she liked them. :)

Little Franklin will be representin' equality!

DIY Dog Bed

We have a new, temporary house guest who desperately needed a soft bed. I used an old blanket from the depths of the linen closet, some natural muslin I had lying around and some pillow filling from projects long ago.
I made a big pillow case and stuffed it.
Then I added some (quite ghetto) personalized lovins.

Test run.
I'm pretty sure he likes it.
SUCCESS.

Peace, Love, and Earthy Hair Accessories

I was buying these flower hair clip thingies at craft shows, but they were falling apart and never had the colors I wanted. So I made my own. the great thing about these is that you can clip them directly in your hair (above). Or my favorite way is to clip them onto a fabric head band. (below)

Korean Lovins (Dopoki/Tapoki)

Mmmmm dopoki for dinner tonight. Here are the steps to cook it. I showed a photo to the owner of the Korean/Asian grocery store I shop in. She said, "Oooooooo now all we need to do is open a restaurant!"
